Rutgers Student Animal Legal Defense Fund

What We Do

The SALDF Chapter at Rutgers-Camden has focused on two goals among many: community outreach and education and assisting local shelters.

Throughout the 2007-2008 school year, Rutgers SALDF held various fundraisers and drives. By doing so we were able to help keep a local no-kill shelter from closing, and we were able to provide blankets and money for food to shelters in the area.

Additionally we held an animal activism event where we brought in speakers from the animal activist community to discuss current animal activist laws and to share their stories of leadership and hardship in their struggle to keep animals protected from abuse and neglect.

This year we intend to multiply our efforts, as it is our second year running. Considering our success last year, we are positive that our community will benefit from our efforts. We are always open to ideas on how we can reach out to a wider audience, so if you have an idea, please let us know.
